Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be 

transformed by renewing your minds. We are all born in sin so we have developed a natural tendency to do things that are not Christ like. as a result we have developed these patterns to lie, steal ,have uncontrollable  anger,  live immoral lives just to name a few  . But in order to come into a better relationship with God it requires  change in these patterns .It can take years or we can become frustrated trying ,But when we surrender our lives completely to God this puts us in a position of understanding that as Many as received him he has given us the power to become the sons of God. Now  we have the power and the help and the holy spirit's help and Gods grace to help us change the patterns in our lives .

A pattern is a sequence of repeated design or action in a predictable way. mathematically we can use a pattern to solve a problem it is also a model and guide to make things it can shape things or create a DNA  for something In Human beings .Good patterns can create good character  

Be not conformed to this world   

1 John 2 :15-17 Do not Love the world or the things of this world. If anyone loves the world the love of the father is not in him all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh .the lust of the eyes and the pride of life and is not of the father. No man can serve two Masters he will either love one and hate the other.

In order for regain control over your life the pattern has to change and the pattern we have developed can only change when the DNA changes, this DNA  is visible when our father changes and we can see transformation. as our mind is renewed.

Renewing of our minds will change the pattern of our actions .

Proverbs 23:7 As he thinketh in his heart so is he..... allow God to transform you heart so that you can have full access to his blessings.
